Braised beef takes hours over medium-high heat. The beef is seasoned with ginger, beef broth, sherry, and special dark soy sauce. When we prepare this dish, we couple the braised beef with Chinese bok choy in a sweetened soy sauce based brown sauce served over a plate of white rice.
