What is Taro?  Taro is a root vegetable that is highly nutritious and is eaten in many cultures around the world.  Taro tastes like potatoes but has a heavier content of starch lingering in the mouth.  Taro root is a common ingredient in Chinese cooking.  The taro absorbs the sauce well, so when cooked with spareribs will very tasty.
